We had a great 4th. I always enjoy spending extra time with the girls when I'm off...it makes it hard to go back to work.
On the 3rd of July we went to a fireworks celebration held at the church where Nia and Nala go to Mothers Day Out two days a week. It was really nice. I'm not an outdoor person, but there were no mosquitoes and it actually wasn't hot that night. The girls were just a little startled when the fireworks first started but after they got used to it there were lots of "oooh"s "so pretty"s and "beautiful"s. They loved it!
I also got to take a pic 3rd Annual Clickinmoms Scavenger hunt of MacKenzie in a police car. Obviously we could have just taken a shot in KTs, but this car was pink (for breast cancer awareness) and we thought it was pretty cool...
On the 4th, the girls had a red, white and blueberry breakfast and then spent the day at my sister's and the kids had a great time. MacKenzie spent the night over there. When we got home and realized that the neighborhood fireworks were just as good as what the city was putting on, we sat outside and let the girls watch. I missed MacKenzie because I knew she would have enjoyed it...oh well...next year...

Flashback Friday
Easter is this weekend and I'm hoping to make it fun for the girls. For the first time ever, I have purchased Easter baskets that I plan to put together...nothing fancy...but something. I'm hoping we can dye and decorate eggs tomorrow. I'm also hoping that the weather holds up so we can possibly do an egg hunt in the backyard.
This is a flashback from last Easter. All three girls have grown SOOO SOOOOO much. It's unbelievable. Last year, I purchased MacKenzie's dress early on from Dillards on sale and I got the twins dresses from Target for $24.99. This year, I found them dresses again at Target for $14.99/ea. I'm thrilled. They aren't fancy, but I'm not really one for the fancy dress, white shoes, and hat. It just isn't me... :) I ordered MacKenzie's online from Hautelook.com. It's by US Angels. I like it a lot, but I'm just glad it fits! She's seriously growing like a weed.
I hope you enjoy your Easter Weekend ! May your heart be filled with thanks for the sacrifice Jesus made for us. For this, we were not worthy, but he paid the price anyway. We are so very blessed.
This is probably a really dumb question, but why does the date of Easter change so drastically? Last year, Easter was the first week of April...
I'm sure this is something I should know...but I'm going to have to google it... Enough of my blabbering...wanna play?? Head over to Jen's blog and link up! !

4th of July & Waterplay
Yesterday, we took to the girls to see fireworks. Nala wasn't really feeling the loud booms. Nia didn't mind a bit, but ended up getting bored. She's something else! Unfortunately the show was a little weak, no offense to whomever but it on...LOL. Before we left, we pulled out some old firecrackers too. Mack didn't quite trust them...but eventually went out and joined in for some firecracker fun at home. Earlier in the day MacKenzie and I made some 4th of July cupcakes. To be perfectly honest they weren't the best, but it's the experience that counts. :) Also, all day long I sat around regretting not getting the girls cute 4th of July dresses. It was definitely in my heart, I just never quite got around to it. I always dressed MacKenzie up for the 4th when she was little. Second and third kiddos too often get the shaft! Sorry girls!
I was off today in celebration of the 4th of July so we took the girls to a splash pad at one of our parks here. They had a fantastic time. They had a waterplay day at school week before last too. I'm so glad they enjoyed playing in the water. It was a nice day to be out. It wasn't too hot nor crowded. In one of the pics below you'll notice Nia playing with a shovel and bucket of water. Um that wasn't ours. She took over this little boy's toy and had the nerve to get mad when we wanted it back...clinching her fist and the whole nine yards...again, she is something else!
Its been a fantasic weekend and there is truly nothing in the world I love more than spending time with my family. I'm grateful that this holiday weekend gave me an opportunity to do just that!
YES, Nala is VERY bowlegged and YES, I did attempt to put Nia's hair in a ponytail or two...and NO, they do not have on Swim Diapers, so YES, their Pampers Baby Dry diapers did blow up like balloons creating an illusion of much junk in the trunk!
