shakeology | 3 day cleanse

so if you been around a while...you might have noticed i like a project or challenge.  im not always successful but my initial intentions are always good.

i've now decided to give beachbody's turbofire workout a try.  i know you may be thinking...but you failed miserably at 30 day shred...three times...i know. i know.  but i'm gonna try.  90 day challenge...here i come.

i'm kicking off the new workout regime with a 3 day shakeology cleanse.  i purchased under coach stacy rudman and she has challenged a group of us to do a 3 day cleanse.   i feel pretty confident that i can definitely do that. kt says that he is going to do it with me and my photog friend jenna stubbs  i'm excited to detoxify and i think it will be great to go into the new fitness regime feeling a little less groggy.  here is stacy's post that details her 3 day cleanse from june of last year.  she modified it a bit.  here is the official how to:

What to Eat (per day)
3 Shakeology shakes a day – only water and ice (only add fruit if you’re already super fit.)
2 snacks – one will be a shake, the other a piece of fruit.
1 salad with 4oz of grilled white protein (fish or poultry)
o Get creative! Add some colorful veggies and fruits as well as nuts, seeds, and legumes!
o Only low fat dressings or 2 tbsp olive oil/vinegar. Take it easy with the salt/pepper.
No sugars, no dairy (no, not even soy or almond milk!), no chemical sweeteners.
AVOID A R T I F I C I A L ANYTHING

What to Drink
2 cups of green tea
2-4 liters of water AKA LOTS of water!
No soda, alcohol, juices, energy drinks, etc. Coffee and tea should be minimized and if possible, eliminated for the next 3 days. If you need a cup of coffee to start your day, go ahead. Just use only as needed, and don’t use additives. (Come on, you can handle that for three days, right?) Eliminating sugar and chemicals is vital!

How to do it
Wake up: Green Tea (or coffee) to get going. NO milk and sugar, though!
Breakfast: 1 Shakeology
A.M. Snack: 1 piece of fruit
Lunch: 1 Shakeology and another cup of green tea or detox tea
P.M. Snack (can also be after dinner): 1 Shakeology
Dinner: Salad greens, 3 servings of vegetables, 4 oz. of grilled white meat, and 2 tbsp of dressing – NO MORE!

What to expect
You should be consuming between 800- 1200 calories a day. You should not do this cleanse for more than 3 days. While you can take additional Beachbody nutritional supplements, they are not necessary. Avoid the Beachbody recovery drink as it isn’t calorie/sugar efficient enough for this! If you know your base metabolic rate, please adjust the protein/veggies/fruits intake to cater to your body type. For the best results, do NOT use any additives. Expect to have less energy during the next three days, after all this is a performance cleanse.

i am modifiying mine to have my salad at lunch because i refuse to bring my hunka blendtec to work. i should add that i haven't been religious about it, but i have been going to the gym some.  i'm loving zumba class best...but with work being pretty busy i've had a harder time as of late getting to the gym at lunch.  my preference for working out is absolutely classes but i'm going to do this and then hopefully try insanity aslyum next...baby steps people...

 i'll report back!

ten on tuesday

1) yep, that's right, i just started a ten on tuesday post as if i haven't been mia...
2) my good friend betsy, included this in a gift she gave me yesterday. love it!  my girls and love ipads
and the classic book good night moon so how perfect is this!
3) so stinkin honored that i received a facebook message from THE michelle kane requesting some of
my images for her upcoming actions release.  love her work and her actions are the absolute best.  hands
    down.

4) if you've been around a while and are still here, you know i love a project.  super excited to be sharing in
an easy peasy frame it friday project with danville, california photographer, wendy vonsosen, clinton, ms
photographer, shea parker, and goodyear, arizona photographer, jobrina hofleit.  you can find our posts
every friday on my photography blog

5) while i've been kinda rotten about updating my blogs this year, i have been posting on facebook.  find my
    photography page here.

6) i'm doing it again, i ordered a beach body workout program...trying tubo fire this time.  praying that i can
   stick to it.

7) mackenzie's gym has decided not to continue its competitive gymnastics program going forward.  she is
pretty devastated.  lots of tears and msging back and forth with her teammates this weekend.  trying to
decide how to move forward from here. new gym?  back to dance?  volleyball?  more time at home?? ;)

8) b/c i haven't blogged in a while, i haven't mentioned that i upgraded to the new ipad.  not sure it was
worth it.  but i do like having extra room.  my previous ipads were both 16gb.  i went with 32gb because i
was tight on space with movies and pictures.  the screen is really nice...i'll give them that but for the most
part, it's just minor enhancements that really didn't justify the need for me to upgrade.

9) last night i sold my first dslr camera.  my rebel xsi.  im going to miss it.  that camera was good to me.

10) the twins turned 3 a week ago.  pictures forthcoming...nothing high quality.  just a few party snapshots.

happy tuesday.
